Gerhard Richter, I love this guy. His newest stuff reminds me of Jackson Pollock in a way. The thing about Pollock’s work is that it is sooo iconic and so identifiable. No one can do a painting like Pollock did with out it being hopelessly derivative. Even if they do it extremely well. ( we can’t have a “drip” painting movement like we had say an impressionist movement. )

I used to think that Pollock was the only artists that could achieve that degree of dominance over an approach…Now I think Richter joins him… amazing work.
